Ryan Leslie Interview
This is one of the most interesting interviews I have seen in a long time. Ryan speaks about the future of music, of course especcially HIS music. He is releasing his album in form of videos and we will get the whole album in form of a mobile app! He tells how he uses his music videos as advertisements for his live shows because people can’t illegally share the live experience. He says releasing CDs and iTunes downloads don’t make that much sense anymore because people will get the music on other ways without buying them.
Near the end of the interview he says how he wants to collaborate with Cassie again once she has found herself as an artist and released another body of work.
CassieBoards.com is BACK!! It has never been gone, but it has been veeery quiet for like the last half a year… But now I have made a new design and updated the board with the latest news and opened a few discussions. Come in and join me!!

Cassie for i-D Magazine:
Your cult following has a real thing about you and Ryan Leslie on a team. Are any of his productions on your new record?
“Not so far, but I’m not done recording so I don’t know. He’s running around doing his thing, and I actually haven’t seen him in a while. Last summer I played him some stuff, so I got a feel of what we’re doing. Everyone wants us to do another track together because, that sound, nobody could recreate it. Even when he did other records with other people and they tried to recreate the sound, nobody was ever able to do it. There was a record that I really was obsessed with that I really wanted to do, but he was signing this girl and she ended up doing it - but it was a Cassie record, it didn’t work for her.”
Cassie for i-D Magazine:
“What I realised after finding out that there was a cult following, and after reading an article about it, was that I practise for straight, I don’t over-sing anything. Sometimes it frustrates me when I’m in the studio and a vocal producer will be like ‘No, no, no, sing it lighter’”
